How to develop the talents of your child
10:41:30 2024-01-14 1067

Have you noticed that your son is fond of one game over another?

Have you noticed your son being interested in some electronic devices, interacting with their contents, and making an effort to repair them?

Have you been attracted by your daughter's interest in making pastries and sweets and her attempt to cook professionally?

Paying attention and observation is the first step that you should take as a start in developing your children’s talents.

Talent is considered a blessing from Allah Almighty that must be preserved and worked to develop. Most studies have proven that about 90% of children have talents up to the age of five, but as a result of not paying attention to those talents and helping the child develop them, the percentage of talents decreases to 10% at the age of seven, and this percentage continues to decrease until it reaches 2% at the age of eight. This is evidence of a lack of attention and observation of the talents and abilities that children have that can be developed in children.

The next step is to help the child from a scientific and guidance perspective

By stating and clarifying the details of that talent, many convictions about his talent will change, and he will try to work to change what he can about it for the better and develop his methods. Provide him with resources and support him financially to collect sufficient data about it, and allow him to travel and participate in courses and lectures that enrich his ideas and information, such as participating in a course for learning designs, drawing, intonation and recitation, or training in a sporting hobby...

-Then focus on your child being associated with a role model in order for him to imitate him and emulate his successful personality. He should be careful not to be given absolute freedom in choosing his role model in the field of his talent, as what he chooses may not be consistent with our Islamic morals, so we should participate with him in choosing the role model that he would like to follow.

- Motivate and encourage him, and let the family members also contribute to this, so that his positive feeling towards his talent deepens and his self-confidence strengthens, and this also happens through supporting him in exercising his talent.

Finally, help him leave a beneficial impact with his talent, such as writing a book, creating a documentary program, or a website...
