The implications of lexical hierarchies for some ‘syntactic’ phenomena

There are several ‘ syntactic ’ consequences of the inclusion of hierarchies as part of lexical structure. (As could be expected for grammatical structures dependent on the lexicon, the distinction between ‘ semantic ’ phenomena and the corresponding ‘syntactic’ phenomena is extremely difficult; and beside our point.)
