Children should not stand idly by when a dispute occurs between parents. Adults should move to reconcile them, soothe their feelings, and strive to reunite and restore relations to their natural state of harmony and agreement. These are steps that help in how to reconcile them:
Praying and insisting on Allah Almighty is a gateway to success in reconciling parents. So let the first step you take be to ask Allah for success.
First, go to your mother because the mother is more tender and has a tender heart and strong emotions, and her initiative to accept the idea of reconciliation may be more ready than the father.
Second, go to your father and address him politely without hurting his dignity or feelings, and mention his efforts, giving, and great interest in building the family so that you can pave the way for raising the idea of reconciliation with your mother.
Invest the affection between you and them to change things, and use all means of humility, gentleness, hope, and persuasion in order to end the dispute between them.
Make sure to address each party individually without going into the details of the problem, as this is more likely to be beneficial and achieve reconciliation.
Involve your siblings with you in the reconciliation process, and let everyone stand on the same level towards the parents, and be careful not to discriminate between them no matter how much your feelings are inclined towards one of them.
Invest in a close occasion to spread an atmosphere of celebration and joy, or invite them to a recreational trip or to have a meal in a fancy restaurant.
