The consonants of NigP

Mafeni (1971) presented 24 consonant phonemes for NigP while Elugbe and Omamor (1991: 79) presented 24 systematic phonetic consonants. However, I now recognize about 25 at the systematic phonetic level. It is quite possible that some varieties may have more consonants – especially where local words are drafted in from time to time. However, it is not necessary to account for such transient consonants in a phonology of NigP.
