By a study of the relation between the position of the point of light and its focus it is seen that in all cases in which there is a real focus, the point of light and its focus, or image, are interchangeable. If a candle is used at P, its image is found at P'. If now the candle is placed at P', its image is at P. Two points, so located that one is the image of the other, are conjugate foci.
