Additional Sounds

Our primary concern has been the consonants and vowels of English. However, students of Speech Pathology and TESOL (teachers of English to speakers of other languages) as well as of applied linguistics frequently deal with speakers of other languages, either in the context of foreign language learning or in the context of bilingualism (or multilingualism). Such situations, needless to say, demand familiarity with several sounds that are not present in English.
